Traveling

 Friday morning we loaded up and headed out in two vehicles to Florida.  John drove his Corvette to participate in Vettes at the Village with Jim while the Durango was loaded to capacity with our camping supplies and bikes.  We spent Friday and Saturday night with Jim and Fran and camped Sunday and Monday night at Topsail Hill State Park.

Happy Birthday to me

My birthday was last Wednesday.  We were super busy packing for our trip to Destin for the Corvette show and camping trip so we kept it simple by making a Jello No Bake Oreo pie. 

A Few Pics

 Ben has been really into dressing up lately.  One day last week, he was Handy Manny.  And then Handy Manny decided to be a rapper (even though the only rapper Ben's ever seen is Elmo).  He's performing on stage.  Mollie and I are the audience.  Notice his spotlight behind him.

 Ben has half a plastic egg taped to his head because he was pretending to be a bottle of Sprite.  The egg was the twist top.

 We've been reading The Littles series of books by John Peterson.  Ben loves them and has been building houses and creating scenes from the books and from his imagination using blocks and our collection of Fisher Price Little People.

Wednesday is my birthday, but I already spent my birthday money on this 4-bike rack.  I know it's super dorky but I've been wanting one so that we could take our bikes when we go camping.  I'm very excited about it.  I have all our bikes loaded up just to figure out how to do it.  I'll have to unload them in the morning before I go to the grocery store.  I bought the rack at a local bike shop this morning.  I took Ben's bike along with us because I was told it would be the hardest to fit.  They attached the rack to my car with Ben's bike on it to drive home.  When we got home, Ben turned around and looked out the back window and said, "It's still there!"  I guess he didn't trust that his bike was really going to stay on that contraption.

Mission Project

 Every year our church does a week of local missions projects where we work on houses in our community.  Ben really wanted to help this year so I got a babysitter for Mollie for a couple of hours this afternoon so that we could go.  He was super-excited to get to paint.  We helped primed a house that is being repaired.

Letter Writing

 Last week Ben wrote MawMaw Wilma and PawPaw Sherman a letter.  He's opening the letter he received back from MawMaw.

 MawMaw wrote him a letter and drew pictures. (Ben is still wearing his bird feathers.)

 Mollie working a puzzle while Ben worked on his letter.  I tried to get her to color a picture for MawMaw and PawPaw but she was too busy playing with her puzzle.

Dress Up

 Ben has been creating costumes for himself and Mollie all week.  On Tuesday, they were cats.  They are saying, "Meow."

 Ben was Mickey Mouse all morning Wednesday.  His room was the Clubhouse. 

 Thursday he was a bird sitting in his nest.

 This morning they were puppy dogs panting in their doghouse.  I thought the feathers were an odd choice for making a dog costume, but those are their ears hanging down.
