Nina and Pinta

On Friday I was back on the river touring replicas of the Nina and Pinta, Columbus' ships.  We went with a big group of CC friends.

 Mollie Grace and Annie wanted to go to Mud Island after hearing about it from Ben.  Mollie Grace is throwing a rock into the Mississippi River from the pedestrian bridge.

 We packed a picnic lunch.  Since it was Friday and I hadn't grocery shopped our picnic food was slim.  We ended up taking tomato soup in a thermos with goldfish and apples.

NCS Field Trip

Thursday the 4th grade class went on a field trip to ride the Memphis Queen II riverboat and visit Mud Island.  Nana and Grandaddy spent the day with Mollie Grace and Annie so that I could go. 

On Wednesday night, Nana and Grandaddy took us out to eat at a hibachi restaurant.  The kids had never been to a hibachi place before and loved it.

 We went down the Mississippi River, under the I-55 bridge and then made a circle back to the dock.  It took about an hour.  The riverboats do not move quickly.

 While we rode the boat, we learned about the history of Memphis.

 We crossed the highway and the river on the pedestrian walkway to Mud Island.

 Mud Island has a really cool scale model replica of the Mississippi River and includes maps of major towns along the river.  Ben is walking across the Hernando Desoto Bridge (I-240) in Memphis into Arkansas.

Thursday night Ben's team had a soccer game so Nana and Grandaddy got to watch him play.

CC Week 8

 We are having Spirit Month at CC.  Today was Wacky Day.  My class of mainly little girls thought I was dressed beautifully. 

We had cupcakes and sang happy birthday in class to celebrate Annie's birthday.

Saturday was full of activities with a soccer game in the morning, a birthday party in the afternoon, and a family birthday celebration for Annie in the evening.
