Learning Begins Early

Ben had never been in John's car before so after John went driving, we put Ben in it for a couple of pictures. John said if Ben was really, really good one day he might get to drive it. I've driven it and most of you know my driving record so Ben will probably get to drive it one day too.

Cara's gonna hate this

Cara thought Ben's blue overalls made him look too old. I doubt she's going to like the dress shirt and khaki cords he wore to church this morning. We thought he was really cute. Notice the shoes in the picture with me. This is the first time he's ever worn shoes. That pic was taken before church. The shoeless picture with John was taken after church.

Standing Tall

Ben really likes to stand lately. He looks so big when he's standing. Of course the superlong pants don't really show that in this pic. This outfit is 9 months. His one-piece 6 month outfits are too small. I think he has short legs and a long torso.

Hilarious Boy

For some reason Ben thought I was hilarious this evening. Everytime I looked at him, he laughed. He also thinks the word "hilarious" is very funny. You can just look at him and say "hilarious" and he laughs. Here's a video. Everytime I peaked out from behind the camera he would laugh.

I just thought this was a funny picture.

Is this something to eat?

MawMaw Wilma sent Ben a Halloween card. Here are a couple of pictures of us opening it. He tried to eat the envelope, the card, and the dollar bill. He really loved getting mail. (Mama, I know my hair is hanging in my face. I pushed my hair out of my eyes and had John take some more pics, but these were the best ones of Ben and he's the star of these pics.)

Bwwwwhhh!!!

This is Ben's favorite new noise. I'm not sure how anyone could listen to the lesson at church last night with Ben's motor running in the back.

Equation

Bwwwwhhhh!!! + spoon full of baby food =

Ben may be getting too big for his swing.

. . . and over

Ben has been able to roll from back to stomach for weeks. However, once he accomplished rolling over, he wasn't very interested in rolling onto his stomach. Suddenly last week, he was rolling over and over and over. The problem was that once he got on his stomach, he couldn't roll back onto his back. I would have to roll him over again and again and again. Last night we were all in the living room. Ben was on the floor on a blanket. He had rolled onto his stomach and was looking around. Suddenly, he just rolled onto his back. John and I applauded. Then I grabbed my camera and took a picture. Of course, it's just a picture of him laying on his back.

More Pictures

Here are several other pictures I've taken lately. Ben can't sit up by himself yet, but he likes his Bumbo seat. In the first picture, we're playing ball. He loves this ball. He laughs and tries to chew on it. Eventually, he'll let it go and it will roll to me. I'll hand it back to him and we start over. He thinks this is very funny. In the second picture, we are folding clothes. Ben is helping by chewing on one of John's socks. We're going to assume that the washer really does get them very clean.

Six Months

Ben was six months old on Friday. We went to the pediatrician for his 6-month well baby visit today. He weighs 18 lbs 9 oz and is 27 inches long.
