Water Guns and Popsicles

The park/splash pad was so packed our last Wednesday park day that I decided to invite our CC group to our house this week.  Everyone brought water guns and a box of popsicles.  We played a few field day type water games and they ran around and played.  It was lots of fun and super easy.  We had about 50 people here.

4th of July

 We had a very restful fourth of July weekend at home.  Annie and Mollie Grace made this flag cake and we ate watermelon and they swam in the pool.

RYM

Ben spent a week at RYM-Florda (Reformed Youth Ministries) with some of the middle school youth from our church.  We dropped him off at church at 7:15 a.m. Monday and they got back about 4:30 p.m. Friday.  He and Isaac were the only youth guys.  Our youth minister came down with COVID the first day and his wife had to drive to Florida and get him.  Anna, who was the girls' adult chaperone, took over as leader along with the help of the two college students Elizabeth and John who were with them.  They had electives (classes they had chosen in advance) in the morning and then activities/beach time in the afternoon, and then large group worship at night.  Tuesday morning our group was responsible for helping serve breakfast and Ben spent the afternoon participating in a beach soccer 5v5 tournament.  He was wiped that evening.  Ben sent me the sunset beach picture that he took.  The rest of the pictures came from Elizabeth, who did a great job keeping parents updated on what everyone was doing and sending pictures.

June Days

After returning from Jackson, June was swimming in the backyard, trips to Point Mallard with the Burlesons, hanging out with friends at the park, and having Juliet over a day of girly fun.  MG and Annie have matching swimsuits and have surprisingly worn them places together.  The girls had a fashion show.  Annie styled MG's dress from a bedsheet.  There is no picture of just Ben and Reed at Point Mallard because we are giving them freedom this summer and allow them to hang out in other parts of the parks without moms and siblings.  While Ben was at RYM, Juliet (whose mom was a chaperone at RYM) spent a day with us.  They had chocolate chip waffles for breakfast, played dress up, made pretzels from scratch, had a tea party, swam, rode bikes, etc.  It was a fun day. 

Twin Lakes

Mollie Grace attended Twin Lakes for a week.  I dropped her off on Monday and picked her up on Saturday.

 

Nana and Grandaddy

While MG was at Twin Lakes, Ben, Annie and I spent the week with Nana and Grandaddy.  Sunday night we ate hibachi.  We had a good week playing ping pong, board games, working on a puzzle, and swimming in the neighborhood pool.  Nana and Annie worked on a sewing project.  We also visited the Children's Museum.
