October Week 4

Wednesday night was our Fall Festival at church.  Annie reused her Constance costume while MG and I wore our Daphne and Velma Halloween costumes.  Ben is Shaggy for Halloween but reused his DIY Scooby from another CC character dress-up day.  Annie won second place in the Old Testament pumpkin painting contest.

October Week 3

Annie continued to celebrate her birthday into the next week.  Her actual birthday was Tuesday and she had her annual neighbor tea party.  She got a new comforter and sheets from us. We had another dress-up day at school -- book character dress-up.  Ben and his friends had recently read A Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift and dressed as "rich Irishmen who eat babies." The girls were Kate Weatherall and Constance Contraire from The Mysterious Benedict Society.  While in their crazy costumes, Ben's teacher gave out rewards for their art grant proposals.  Ben was rewarded the $10,000 grant.  Saturday was our yearly neighborhood fall party and Ben went to a CC fall party.

October Week 2

The second week of October was BUSY!  On Friday we made a quick trip to Atlanta with Ben's class to the High Museum of Art to observe art in person for a project he has due.  We rode with the Burlesons, who were also hurrying to get back because Ben and Reed were playing in a soccer game at 6 p.m.  Reed isn't on Ben's soccer team this year but they needed extra players and Ben convinced Reed and Mason (who he used to play with on PDP) to join him for the weekend.  They did really well and finished second place in the tournament.  Ben scored two goals.  We also celebrated Annie's birthday with just our family and she opened gifts.

October Week 1

The first week of October the girls had Sewing Club, the younger kids painted pumpkins at church, John and Ben went bike riding with church friends at Monte Sano, and we celebrated my birthday.
