Snail Presentation

A friend with a son in Annie's class sent me this video of Annie's snail presentation.

September -- Week 3

 Trying again without Marcie.

 Checking out Johnson's praying mantis during presentation.  According to Johnson, a praying mantis "is not a Christian because they murder other bugs."

 Working on their final art project for the first six weeks. For fine arts during the next six weeks we play the tin whistle.

 Mollie Grace used "Starry Night" by Van Gogh for her inspiration.

 I brought in several samples for inspiration.  You can see people chose to do different things.

 Cooling off after a hot lesson while Mollie Grace washed Trav off.

 Luke and Caroline were not able to ride during Mollie Grace's last lesson.  I wondered if she would canter as well without having someone to follow.  She did amazing by herself.

September -- Week 2

 Playing Apples to Apples with friends at small group at the Greenslades' house.

 The pool water turned green and there was no getting it back so we drained the pool, cleaned it, let it dry, and then Ben and I rolled it up and put it back in the box for next Sunday.

 Mollie Grace painted Annie's nails and rolled her hair in preparation for CC.

 Mollie Grace's cardboard house has grown to new heights.  I've warned her it has to come down at the end of September.

We went to the play "The Miracle Worker" (about Annie Sullivan and Helen Keller) with some other CC families.

 Friday Annie had Lily Cate over to play.

Saturday we said goodbye to the Little Tykes playhouse.  We didn't want to move it with us but we didn't know what to do with it.  I posted it on a local Facebook buy, sell, trade page as free, curb pickup.  We took it apart and carried it out to the curb.  Twenty-two minutes after I made the post, a couple were driving away from our house with it in the back of their truck.

 Mollie Grace is in my class for the first time so I have lots of pictures of her at CC this year.

 Mollie Grace and Annie used the same dioramas for presentation two weeks in a row.  The second time they told about food chain and what the different animals in their biome ate.

 Multiplication Fact Tic Tac Toe

Wednesday morning Mollie Grace had horse riding lessons.  She cantered through a course with four cross rails.

 Annie enjoyed cooling off in the spray while Mollie Grace, Luke, and Caroline washed off their horses.

 Wednesday night Ben ran in his second middle school meet.  It was so hot that they shortened the race to a 2k. 

 Thursday night Annie had her first soccer practice with her new team the Jaguars.

 Annie has been wanting to have a playdate with her school friends Emmeline and Arlie.  Friday they were able to come over and play.  They played outside in the sprinkler and on the swing set.

 Mollie Grace made the food "fancy" by adding toothpicks.

 They had a lunch "tea" party.

 And made very sparkly cookies.
