Canton Christmas

While Ben, MV, Annie, and I went to the hunting camp Friday evening, Fran and her mom took Janey and Mollie Grace to see the lights on the square in Canton.  They listened to a story read by Mrs. Claus, rode a train and a carousel.  They had a great time.

Hunting Camp

On Friday afternoon, Ben, MV, Annie and I went to the camp so that Ben and MV could hunt with John and Jim.

Thanksgiving

We spent Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with the Elders.  Fran and the girls were with us while the men were at the hunting camp.

On Wednesday we took the kids for our annual cousin picture.  The big thrill is always riding the escalator.

Getting a ride in the red car.

All the kids still try to ride in the red car but only Annie really fits.

Trying on Grandaddy's Navy hat.

Before Thanksgiving

We got a Paula Deen My First Cookbook from the library.  Ben has enjoyed trying some recipes for breakfast.

Ben is cutting the middle out of can biscuits for me to fry for donuts.

Mollie made us all hot chocolate.

Laundry helpers.

A Week

One day last week I was working on our Christmas cards.  I was having a hard time finding a picture of Mollie to use.  I take pictures all the time but not many posed pics when the kids are dressed nice.  Usually they are being silly or in their pjs or dress up clothes.  Ben did a photo shoot with Mollie trying to get a good pic.

 Ben is #3 this year.

We spent Saturday night at the camp so that Ben could hunt with John.

Mollie sat in front of the cabin and bird watched.  She loves birds.

We recently read then watched The Wizard of Oz.  Mollie created at "Yummity Yum" road for Annie to follow.

A Busy Few Days

Saturday night Ben, Mollie and I went to the TriState Rodeo Finals to watch Zac compete.  This was Ben and Mollie's first rodeo.  I think barrel racing was their favorite event.  Mollie liked that it was girls while Ben likes anything that involves a race.

Hanging out with Uncle Zac before the rodeo.

Mollie had a hard time with the chairs.

 She also had extreme static.

The competitors in the Grand Entry.  Zac's back is to us on the opposite side of the arena.

Zac riding out of the Grand Entry.  He is just to the right of the girl with the flag.

 Ben wearing Uncle Zac's hat.

 Feather Girl.

We had our Thanksgiving feast at school today.  Everyone came dressed as pilgrims or Indians.

For presentation today, they had to tell a joke.  Mollie is delivering the punchline of hers:  What did the policeman say to the snowman?  Freeze!  John came up with that joke.

Disney on Ice

Last night Ben, Mollie, Annie and I went to Disney On Ice: Treasure Trove.  The skaters re-enacted scenes from a number of Disney movies including Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Aladdin, The Lion King, Toy Story, Snow White, The Little Mermaid, and Tangled.  And just to make sure all the little girls left happy, all the princesses and their princes skated out at the end. I kept our plans a surprise from Mollie.  I told Ben about it earlier in the week.  That was a mistake since he nearly told Mollie about five times Thursday.  Both Ben and Mollie really enjoyed the show.  Mollie cried on the way home because she wanted to go back.

This was one of my favorite scenes with Peter Pan flying in.

Aladdin riding in on an elephant to impress Princesses Jasmine.

Of course there were lots of things you could buy.  We settled on lemonade in reusable Mickey Mouse water bottles and popcorn.

Pics

To commemorate Veteran's Day, we flew our American flag, recited the Pledge of Allegiance, and sang the Star Spangled Banner (which Mollie calls the race song.)

Today I went through and disposed of (or filed) the piles of artwork that collect around our house.  I scanned a couple of Mollie's favorites so that they will be in next year's book.  Mollie's favorite things to draw are rainbows and girls with beautiful hairbows.
