By afternoon all the snow was gone yesterday and no more was expected. It was supposed to rain all evening and into today. But at 7 it began snowing HARD. In an hour we had more snow than had fallen the day before! The forecast still called for rain during the night so we thought the snow would be gone by morning. Our neighbors texted us to come out and play. We ended up having an impromptu sledding party on the big hill. The pictures make it look like it was light outside while we were sledding but it was dark. We came inside about 9:15 soaking wet and freezing but had a great time. When we woke up this morning the snow was still 3 1/2 inches deep. We hurried outside after breakfast to sled some more before it began melting. We learned last night that a pool float makes a great sled!

Snow Days!
The entire South has experienced extreme cold temperatures this week. On Monday it rained, sleeted, and ice formed in the trees and on the roads but we didn't get any snow. None was forecasted for us. However, Tuesday morning we woke up to a white world! It snowed all day. The high was 16 degrees so we wore multiple layers and all our warmest clothes. Today there is still some snow left over from yesterday and we got out early and made some runs down the hill in a storage bin. We expect the snow will be melted by afternoon. John was home from work most of the day Monday and all day Tuesday. He's back at work today.
Valentine's Day
Our neighbor Erika, hosted a Valentine's Day party for her kids, grandkids, and us. Annie made her Valentine's assembly line style while Mollie Grace carefully created a Valentine for each person. We also had cards to open on Valentine's Day from Nana and Grandaddy and a package from MawMaw Wilma and PawPaw Sherman.
Science Fair and CC
In the morning, each student in Ben's Challenge A class had to present their science fair project to the judges.

January continued
There aren't very many pictures for the rest of January. However we've been busy. The Saturday before our anniversary we celebrated by grilling steaks. The following weekend we hosted our LifeGroup (small group of church families) for supper Sunday. This past weekend we had supper with a family from church Saturday and lunch with the pastor's family Sunday. We also started back Wednesday night classes for children and I'm teaching the 9-11 year old class. Mollie Grace brought her friend Lechelle with us to horse riding lessons. We had a crazy warm day where they played in the mud puddles. Ben put together his science fair display (thanks Mawmaw for the letters and broken egg cutouts). And they build more block houses. Several have been knocked down either by people or animals.
