Coming Soon . . .
Yesterday's visit to the doctor was shocking. I had dilated 2 centimeters and was 60% effaced. The baby is turned head down. After giving me all this information, the doctor suggested that he induce labor on April 3. I was hoping he would suggest inducing since there is a long drive from our house to the hospital. Neither of us want the baby being delivered on the side of the road. But I didn't expect him to do it so soon. When he added that April 3 is next Thursday, my brain shutdown. I literally sat there and said, "Uh, uh, uh, I know there are questions I need to ask, but I can't think what they are." So, if the baby doesn't surprise us and come early, he will be born next Thursday. I feel like I have a lot of things to do between now and Thursday.

Weekly Visits
I went to the doctor today. The nurse told me that I weighed 128 pounds, 13 pounds more than at my last visit. I told her there was no way I had gained 13 pounds in two weeks. She insisted the scales were right. I looked at the scales and noticed that the bottom number was not set on 100. When she weighed me again, I weighed 115 pounds. I had not gained any weight in the past two weeks. There is probably a woman who went to the doctor today that is completely devastated because she weighed so much. I go back to the doctor next Tuesday.

Floods of Gifts
This morning I had a shower at church. Our church is small, and I felt honored that all the ladies of the church came and celebrated with me. Mama, Cara, Mrs. Elder, and Fran also came. We began by eating breakfast foods, which are my favorite. Mrs. Janice shared some tips on motherhood, some funny, some serious, and then read several verses from scripture. Mrs. Marie ended the devotion time with a prayer for me and the baby. I am overwhelmed by all the gifts I've received. I got so many cute and useful gifts that I can't begin to list them all. I did receive a baby book, which will make MawMaw happy. I have lots more pictures of me opening gifts at this shower. Cara didn't have a baby to distract her from her picture taking job.
