Ten Days

It's been ten days since I last posted and they were very busy days.  VBS is next week and I've been working every day to get ready.  Ben and Mollie spent Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with Nana and Grandaddy.  The first half of these pictures are from last week since Ben and Mollie haven't been home.  The others are from today.  I forgot my camera this morning but Mollie, Annie, and I went to a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese.  This afternoon we all went to Ben's end of season baseball party.

We decided to make the little pool more exciting but putting it under the slide.

Hanging out in the backyard while Ben and Mollie play in the pool.  We discovered Annie's first tooth this day. (I think it was Thursday, May 22).  She's had one more push through this week.

Allie Bug gave out packs of real eye shadow at her birthday party a couple of weeks ago.  Ben suggested that Mollie should look in the mirror while she puts it on.

Ben and Mollie thought this was so funny.

It's rained here all week, today included.  It didn't stop the kids from having fun in the pool.

Only six of the eleven boys on Ben's team were at the party -- Levi, Brooks, Kemper, Parker, Ben, and Memphis.

The cool baseball cake.  It's orange because their team was orange.

The boys had a big time wrestling with John in the pool. (The rain would start and stop, start and stop all afternoon.)

Catching Up

I haven't posted in TWO weeks.  That's unheard of for me.  My camera died (it had been on its last leg for a while) somewhere in the middle of those two weeks, but I had a new one in just a few days.

On May 6, we made a midweek trip to visit Mama and Daddy.  We were late leaving because I had a crown put on a tooth that morning.  Since we were late, I wanted to drive through without stopping.  The last hour was tough.  Mollie is giving Annie a bottle and listening to a movie with one earbud.  Ben has the other. I'm usually opposed to giving my kids headphones in the car but my nerves were shot from Annie crying and I couldn't stand to listen to their movie, too.

Daddy let Ben sit in his lap and drive.

Notice the tracks weaving from one side of the road to the other.  Those are Ben's tracks where Daddy let him drive.

Ben had a very loose tooth for a while.  At his baseball game last Tuesday, Easton (one of the kids on his team) tried to get Ben to pull it while they waited for their game, but Ben wouldn't do it.  That night his tooth fell out while he was sleeping.  He's lost four bottom teeth.

He didn't want to give the tooth fairy his tooth again so he wrote her this letter instead.

I took this picture of Mollie while playing with all the settings on my new camera.

Mollie is being Annie's teacher.  She did a great job entertaining Annie that morning.

Ben got a kit to build wooden cars for Christmas.  This is the first car that he built.

Our friends the Walls are moving at the end of the month.  On Sunday afternoon we went to a going away party for them.  The family hosting the party asked all their friends to make a scrapbook page for a gift.

It took Ben about four days to master riding his bike without training wheels.  He LOVES riding his bike now and we've ridden a lot over the past two weeks.  On the day I took this picture, he had his first bad wreck without training wheels and scraped his knee and foot.

Trying out the wooden car he built.

Ben was laying on the floor watching TV and Annie was laying beside him.  Every time he scooted away from her, she would buck herself until she was back beside him.

Last Friday was Ben's final baseball game of the season.  John had to work the outbound and couldn't go to the game so I took lots of pictures and videos.  Ben got two hits from the pitching machine and made it home once.  The other time while he was on base someone else got the third out and they changed sides.

 On second.

 On third.

 An awesome slide home.

Their team lost by one point but it was a good game.

 Final team cheer.

 Saturday morning chores.

Ben built a second wooden car so that they could race.

They've been playing in the sprinkler all week.

Sliding with water from the sprinkler hitting her.

I was so proud to find Ben in bed reading Amelia Bedelia to himself.

Rally Night

It was a big day at church.  Annie was baptized this morning and Ben and Mollie participated in Rally Night tonight.  Rally Night is our end of ministry year (which lines up with the school year) children's program.
