Feb Continued

 Last Wednesday we attended a local production of The Little Mermaid, which was really good.

 Guess who dressed as mermaids for the show?  Ben was there (but not willingly and not in costume).

 For our science project today we learned about why paper airplanes fly.  This is Mollie Grace's class flying their planes.

Valentine's Day CC

Since Annie was still pretty snotty from being sick over the weekend, I didn't want to take her to the nursery at CC today to share her germs with all her friends.  She came to class with Ben and me instead.  She was such a big girl sitting in her chair at the table and participating.

 We threw wadded up paper at the white board to demonstrate Newton's 2nd Law of Motion (force equals mass times acceleration).

Lost tooth

 Lost a front tooth Friday night.  I was up with Annie who had the croup at 2 a.m. when suddenly Mollie Grace appeared holding her tooth that had been barely holding on for a couple of days. She scared me to death!

Toby Mac

Last Thursday we attended the TobyMac Hits Deep Tour.  We bought these tickets back in the fall and had been looking forward to it for a long time.

And Now It's February

We were back downtown this Friday for a performance of Rock the Presidents at the Orpheum.  Rock the Presidents is musical about the the various presidents. We really enjoyed it.  However, I was about to throw up as we waited for it to begin.  We had awesome seats in the balcony to the left of the stage right against the rail.  BUT, I'm scared of heights.  Normally being in the balcony at the Orpheum doesn't bother me, but being right on the rail had me freaked out.  Thankfully once the show started I was able to focus on it and not on how very tall the ceilings are.

The Rest of January

So I put my camera in my purse a couple of weeks ago and didn't take it out.  The one day that I looked for it in my purse, I couldn't find it.  It was there, though.

 Annie continues to build.  Usually they are dog houses.

 She is actually in there.

For the first 6 weeks of 2017, we study great artists in CC. This is my class working on their Gainsborough-like landscape.

 During the last six weeks of CC in the spring, we study the orchestra.  We took the opportunity to attend the Memphis Symphony Orchestra's Young People's Concert last Friday.  It was so good.  They made it funny and interesting and we learned a lot about different musical periods and famous composers.  Afterwards Anne told me she needed to potty but didn't ask during the performance because she didn't want to miss the music.  (I borrowed this pictures from the Memphis Symphony Facebook page.  This was the day I wanted my camera and couldn't find it.)

The teenagers on either side time-traveled through the "silver door."  They returned with different composers (the man in the middle).  It's was like Bill and Ted's Excellent Orchestra Adventure.
