February Week 2

You may notice that the kids take lots of pics of Marcie.

Preparing their Valentines boxes for the Valentines Day party at school on Tuesday.

 Selfie

The bridge moved to her room.

Ben recently wrote a social studies paper about Teddy Roosevelt.  For President's Day, the 5th grade class did a presidents program during chapel.  They were encouraged to dress like their president or wear red, white, and blue. Parents were invited to attend.

This was our dress up practice the night before.  Ben looks more like Harry Potter than TR without the mustache.  Since we were hurrying Friday morning, we did not get a picture with the mustache.

Ben wanted to make white chocolate popcorn trail mix for his Valentine's Day goody.  They celebrated Valentine's Day in their class on Friday.

Ready to watch the Duels (the first race of the NASCAR season) at Daytona Thursday night.

Ben saying his part about Theodore Roosevelt.  A lot of the class elected to just wear red, white, and blue.

Everyone had to try on the glasses and mustache when we got home.

February Week 1

Winter Futsal ended.

They played a different combination of players every game.  Ben is the captain so he played every game.  This is the team from the final game.  Ryan (who is new and doesn't have a uniform), Ben, Angel, Steven, Israel, and Anthony.

Hatchimal take 2.  The first Hatchimal got sick and died (not joking) almost as soon as it hatched.  I contacted the company who sent Annie a replacement.

I was a nervous wreck until the second Hatchimal successfully hatched.  We didn't need a second Hatchimal death.  This is Hatchy and she's still alive.

This is a pic of the U13 and U11 teams that played the previous Saturday.  Noah, Brian, Leland, Aiden, Danni, Anthony, Angel, Eduardo, Ben, Elijah, a U13 player that I don't know, and Jailen.

For science they were supposed to build a bridge between two chairs.  The chairs were far enough apart that a single book wouldn't sit by itself between them.  I was amazed. They grabbed the books and had built a sturdy bridge in two minutes and were crawling under it!

For presentation, Annie demonstrated how to draw an elephant step by step.

 Painting like Michelangelo.

Annie was having to stretch so much that I put a box under her.

 Our new rug arrived!

Learning about graphing by playing Battleship. (Annie arranged my ships.  And I lost!)

Annie built a house for her stuffed birds.

On Wednesday night the girls at church visited Mrs. Elizabeth Chapell.  The visited Mrs. Chapell earlier in the fall and Mollie Grace loves her.  She makes a point to talk to her every Sunday.

Annie rebuilt the bridge at home.  Everyone had to test its strength.

This is right before it collapsed with Mollie Grace.

 Cinderella fashion shoot.

And this was part of their Cinderella performance.

John is underneath all of them (dog included).

End of January

Whoops!  February is more than half over and I haven't posted even one pic.  There were 100s of pics on my phone but they are mainly CC and random pics from around the house. I think these pics are from the last week of January.

Annie drew this Kyle Busch car.

Annie slept in the tent in her room.

Annie's presentation on The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind.

 Wood prints.

With her school friends Emmeline and Arlie.

Somehow Ben had never heard about how I worked on the student newspaper at Nicholls.  I had to get out my bound copies of The Nicholls Worth.  He was fascinated.

This article really cracked him up.

While MG had horse riding lessons one Friday, Annie and I hung out in the car.  She practiced her reading.  She reads three letter words with short vowel sounds easily.

Mollie Grace taught Annie how to make sock birds.
