Lake Guntersville

This weekend we camped at Lake Guntersville State Park.  It was extremely cold.  The highs Saturday were in the 40s.  But we had fun hiking. The views from the lodge were amazing.  The hike to the lodge was hard.  The change in elevation was 462 feet! The deer in the park were extremely tame and you could walk very close to them.

November

We ate delicious brick oven pizza and beignets downtown on Food Truck Friday. Mollie Grace sent me this hilarious stream of text messages while I waited for Annie at dance about how she finished the final Percy Jackson book.  She was both happy and sad.  Annie wrote a paragraph about wanting to be a poet and a librarian when she grows up for language arts.  We packed and delivered our OCC shoeboxes.  Mollie Grace created an elaborate Capture the Flag game.  She and Annie spent two days crafting flags and shields.

Pictures

My neighbor was having her kids pictures taken by a friend at Wheeler Wildlife Refuge so we met them and she did our kids too.  It was exactly one year ago that she did all of our pictures last year. The last picture includes Brantley who specifically requested a picture with Mollie Grace and Annie.

Halloween

Ben talked the family into group costumes this year and they really did turn out awesome.  We were all characters from insurance commercials.  Mollie Grace is Doug from Liberty Mutual (Limu Emu), John is Mayhem from State Farm, Annie is Flo from Progressive, Ben is Jake from State Farm, and I am the Geico Gecko (you can buy anything on Ebay).  We trick or treated in our neighborhood and we were probably most people's only trick or treaters so they got a ton of candy at each house.

October Week 4

October was full of fun.  The fourth weekend of October we had a neighborhood fall party on Saturday with a big bouncy slide, hay ride, and a bonfire.  Annie's choir sang at church on Sunday.  Wednesday we had a fall festival at church.  Mollie Grace re-used her Annabeth costume, but Annie had returned her borrowed straw hat from her Anne of Green Gables costume.  She re-purposed her Cinderella dress from last year, added a dagger and a vial of healing potion and was Lucy Pevensie from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.  On Friday we went to Hernando to Cedar Hill Farm with our SouthavenCC friends. My car was in the shop being repaired from being rear-ended in April but we got a rental so that we could make the trip.  We always love going to Cedar Hill Farm because we get to see lots of friends at one place but it was SO cold this year.  Saturday Reed spent the day with us so that he could go to the Challenge Halloween party because his sister was playing softball in Birmingham.  Reed was a gangster and Ben used his Jake from State Farm costume.
