Packing Material Fun
We received a package with bubble wrap in it today. John taught Ben and Mollie how to jump on the wrap and make lots of noise.
Puzzles
Ben was super proud of himself for putting this cement truck puzzle together by himself today. He got these puzzles for Christmas from Nana and Grandaddy and this was the first time he'd tried to work on them alone. He needed a little help on two of the others. By the time I took this picture, he had taken them apart and put them back together a few times.

Ben
Earlier this week Ben made name tags for himself and Cat so that everyone would know that they are builders. Ben's read "BENDBD." Cat's read "CATDBD." His spelling is creative. Notice that he hears "D" for "the."
Ben drew this picture of our house and family today. He glued several pieces of colored paper to it. I asked what they were for. He said, "To make it look good."

Tee Ball
Ben told us in January that he wanted to play baseball on a team so last weekend we signed him up to play tee ball this spring. His uniform is ordered and we are waiting to find out what team he's on. Saturday Daddy and I took him to Academy Sporting Goods and outfitted him with everything he needs to play tee ball (and a lot more) -- glove, bat, balls, helmet, cleats, and a practice tee. Ben tried it all out for the first time this afternoon. He's most excited about the bat.
Happy Birthday Emalee
We went home this weekend for Emalee's birthday party. She turned seven years old.
Ben waiting impatiently for Emalee to read her card. He was ready for her to open her gift from us, "I Can Read" books and princess vitamins (Ben begged to buy the vitamins for her). Emalee read each of her cards and was really aggravated if someone wrote in cursive since she can't read cursive.
Mollie enjoyed the cake, ice cream, and chips.

Chinese
On Friday, we picked Chinese take out up for John and took it to him at work. When we got the food, Ben asked really loud, "Where are the chop sticks." The server kindly gave him two sets. He requested ramen noodles for lunch so that he could use the chopsticks.
Mollie knew just what to do with her chopsticks. She stabbed her banana and ate it on the chopstick.
Ben was determined to eat his noodles with the chopsticks.

Painting with John
This evening Ben and John enjoyed painting together. Mollie only last a few minutes.
John outlining a Corvette.
Ben's art is usually abstract.
Red must be Mollie's favorite color. She usually paints red eventhough I give her other colors, too.
John drew a Corvette, of course.
Since John drew a car, Ben said this was a boat on the water.
John drew Grandaddy's camp.
Ben drew a house. Ben outlasted John and painted several more abstract pictures.

Handprints

Did I plan for Ben and Mollie to paint in their pajamas this morning? No.
But we had a lot of fun.
Ben wanted to paint handprints like they did at church last Wednesday night.
Mollie mainly enjoyed painting her hands. This paint was washable unlike the marker last night. The paint washed right off in the bathtub. I used baby oil to remove the last of the green marker from Mollie's eyelids.
This is one of Ben's non-handprint paintings. There are pages of his handprints.
This is Mollie's one and only painting.
