This Week

Ben had a short week of school.  He was off Monday for MLK and Friday for teacher in-service/Parent teacher conferences.

Slapping the continents with a fly swatter.

 Presentation on Degas.

 Making "fossils."

This week's artist gave golden halos to people in his paintings.

 Their seashell "fossils" dry.

We're using the same self-portrait each week and painting it using different styles.

Wednesday was character dress up day at school.  Ben recycled his Adam Savage costume from Halloween.

Annie couldn't eat this egg without taking a picture.  She said it looked like a pig.

Today Annie finally got to hatch her Hatchimal that she got for Christmas.  We had been saving it.  She had the excitement of new Christmas toys and then a trip to Build-A-Bear.  We had all day to be home today so it seemed like a good time.

New Furniture

Last picture on the old couch.  John bought it in 2000 when he had his first apartment in Hattiesburg.

Delivering the old couch to Goodwill.

 New couch being loaded.

I gave my phone to Mollie Grace and told her to take pictures.

 Goodbye old loveseat.

Watching TV on the new couch Sunday night.

Saturday

Saturday was a busy day with soccer, couch shopping, a birthday party, and snow.  Only Annie and I went to the birthday party and as we were leaving we realized it was snowing.  The snowfall was pretty heavy but it didn't stick because it had been in the 50s earlier that morning.

This is the furniture we chose.  It is neither couch I was looking at earlier.  We couldn't bring it home on Saturday, though, because of the weather.

Build A Bear and CMOM

Last Thursday we went to Build-A-Bear to use the gift cards the girls received for Christmas from Nana and Grandaddy.  Then we spent a couple of hours at the children's museum until it was time to pick up Ben from school.

 Annie named her puppy Biscuit.

Mollie Grace named her bear Snowflake.

They wanted to take a picture with the statue outside Build-A-Bear.

Annie thought it was a really big deal that she could climb on and off the horses by herself.

At Home

Helping Annie prepare for her next presentation about a famous artist.  She chose Degas because he liked to paint ballerinas.

Still decluttering and organizing.  This is Annie's pajamas drawer.

 Annie's babies are watching TV.

Annie want to have her picture taken with every puzzle she puts together.  She did four this day.  I'm only posting one picture, but I took four pictures and she took about 10 more of each puzzle.

John and I celebrated our 15th Anniversary.

 Selfie

Annie wrote me this note.  Ben spelled out the words for her.  Translation below.
