Labor Day

We camped at Oak Mountain for Labor Day.  It rained and rained.  Ben, MG, and John still got in several muddy bike rides.  We kayaked and swam in the lake.  Monday afternoon we had our annual neighborhood Labor Day gathering.  Annie and Arianna were in matching swimsuits (not planned).

September 1

I took several pictures on September 1.  The girls have been tracing maps for CC.  Annie particularly enjoys it and makes hers very detailed.  They both made tundra dioramas for presentation this week.  Finally, Annie made pizza dough from scratch and each of them made their own pizzas.  MG made hers turtle shaped. Mine was bacon and cheese.  No sauce.

Car Show

John and Mollie Grace made friends with all the Corvette people at the car show.  MG is sitting in a brand new C8.

August Week 4

The first picture is of Annie and me at Life Group at the Nelsons' house.  My Sunday School class has been studying Exodus and Leviticus since the beginning of the year.  For the last few weeks, we've been hitting the high points of Numbers and Deuteronomy trying to get to the Promised Land before classes promote in September.  We've been tracking our journey on the bulletin board.  Wednesday night Ben and MG attended a back-to-school youth group luau. Mollie Grace promotes to the youth group in September.  The girls dressed up in the leftover props from John's trip to Indy and the youth group luau.  Friday we had ice cream with the Challenge classes.  Ben had a soccer tournament in Birmingham Saturday and Sunday.  Ben, Annie, and I spent Saturday night at the Holleman's house (they were out of town) while John and MG came home to attend the local car show.  Ben's game ended early due to lightning so we decided to have Mexican for supper.  We were back at the soccer field at 7:15 a.m.  They lost their semi-final game so they were out.  It was 9:30 so we hurried home and made it to church as they were singing the last hymn before the sermon.  Sunday night our new pastor was installed.

August Week 3

The third week of August was extremely busy.  Mollie Grace participated in a fun show at Stepping Stone Farms in Birmingham. Annie started tap/jazz on Tuesday and Ballet 3 on Thursday. John spent most of the week in Indianapolis at the National Truck Driving Competition.  He had two drivers competing.  The girls started CC.  MG's teacher sent me a few pictures from their class.  Annie spends the afternoon in my classroom.  Ben had a friendly soccer game on Saturday afternoon and then went to a birthday party that evening.
