End of July

We started the week with a surprise baby shower for Lainee at the end of Sunday School.  Monday we went to the library where Annie found a Bluey cookbook.  Tuesday morning she used the Bluey cookbook to make an omelette.  While she was cooking, MG said she was going to dress up as Bluey to eat breakfast.  After breakfast, we met the Burlesons at Point Mallard.  In the afternoon, we finally got MG's chickens! Their names are Henley, Rebeaka, and Princess Laia. Wednesday was CC Challenge Orientation.  In the afternoon, we went back to Point Mallard with the Burlesons, Sinclairs, and Jana dropped off Rhett.  When we got home, Henley had laid an egg! Ben and Mollie Grace had obviously not peopled enough because they chose to go to Youth Game Night at church.  Annie and I went to Target and did some school supply shopping.  Mollie Grace does not want a new backpack but hers isn't big enough so she has a crate for her extra books.  She is using glitter glue, washi tape, and stick-on jewels to "bedazzle" it. Friday, we ended the summer with a final day at Point Mallard.  Fridays are full price (Monday-Thursday are half price) so the crowd was much smaller.  We did all the slides lots of times.  Annie and I even did the Sky Pond twice.  Annie's first time on that slide.  It's fast!

 

Jena, Jackson, Pickup

Ben and I spent time in Jackson and Jena while the girls were at camp.  The only picture if have from Jena is of Mama's typewriter at work because Ben asked "What is that laptop without a screen?" At Nana and Grandaddy's house, we enjoyed putting together puzzles.  I bought Grandaddy the American flag puzzle for Christmas.  He had put it together before and said it was difficult and challenged Ben and me to do it.  It took us a few days.  Saturday morning we picked up the girls from camp.  They had a closing ceremony for the first time since COVID.  

 

At Camp

Mollie Grace and Annie had a great time at camp.  Each made friends.  Mollie Grace's friends were EJ and Elle. Annie's close friend was named Elsa. On the first night the campers played a game called Pitch Black Attack where they had to convince a group of counselors that they weren't campers.  Annie's group called themselves the Cheese Ninjas.  

Mollie Grace was a LIT (Leader in Training).  They helped serve and clean up meals and helped groups during their activities.  They got to participate in the activities when there was time.

 

Twin Lakes

Dropped MG off at Twin Lakes last night to serve as a LIT (Leader in Training) this week. Took Annie this morning to spend the week as a camper. We didn’t see MG this morning when I dropped off Annie. They were supposed to be helping unload. She was obviously assigned to a different set of cabins.
