Summer Fun

After working really hard the first week to get unpacked and organized, we've had a lot of fun the past two weeks.

 The cul-de-sac in front of our house is great place to ride bikes.

 Making new friends.  These two boys that live in the two houses next door have made the move so much easier for Ben and Mollie Grace.  They are ready to play every afternoon.

 The Y has an awesome outdoor pool area where we go a couple of times a week.

 On Sunday afternoon we went to Nana and Grandaddy's house.  Early Monday morning Fran and I took Ben, MV, and Janey to catch the bus at First Pres to go to Twin Lakes.  They are going to day camp.  They spend all day at camp and then ride the bus back to church where Nana and Fran pick them up for the evening.  Mollie is still in her pjs because she wasn't quite old enough to go to camp this year.

We were excited to find some old friends at registration -- Burn, Payne, and Eli (not in the pic) -- who have known each other since they were 18 months old.

 On Tuesday Mollie, Annie, and I were invited to go to the pool with a family from church.

 There was a petting zoo at the library this morning as part of the summer reading program.

Annie did not like the bigger animals.  She fell down running backwards when a goat tried to sniff her.  She finally decided to pet the rabbits, though.

Twin Lakes Day 3.  Ben said they are making leather bracelets.  Since he doesn't like to wear a bracelet, he put Mollie's initials in his.

 Nana and Grandaddy since Mollie money to get a fish for her birthday.  We went to Petco today and picked on out a Beta along with a tank and accessories.  She is currently calling her fish Jewel.  I don't know if that will stick. (Notice the orange band on Mollie's wrist.  It's from her trip to the children's museum with Nana.  She's been wearing it for three weeks.)

Birthday Girl

And to finish off our busy week, Mollie Grace turned 5 on Saturday.

 She really wanted a birthday balloon.  Ben had priced them at Kroger (without me knowing) earlier in the week and told me we should go there and get her one.  We did.

 She chose pink cupcakes, with pink icing, and pink sprinkles.

Mollie is very excited to be five.  Today she said, "I love being five.  That means I go to . . . (long pause while she thought) college."  I said no, "Kindergarten, not college."  

Playroom

 Ben's room upstairs is huge so he has to share part of it as the playroom.  I spent two afternoons building shelves, unpacking, and organizing their toys.  A lot of these toys have been in storage and they haven't seen them in several months.

Moving In

The movers arrived about 9 a.m. Sunday.  They had a difficult time getting the truck in and were a little late.  We were pacing impatiently waiting for them to arrive.

 The former owner left this sweet verse for us.

 It rained off and on all day so I set up the little playhouse on the patio for the kids to play in.

Spending some time in her new room.  By the end of the day I had Mollie's room all set up.  It's been months since she really had a room so I thought it was important to fix hers first.

I didn't take a picture of Ben on Sunday.  He had created a little play area for himself in his closet with some cars, Legos, his chair, and his Fire.  He was able to stream the Nascar race on his Kindle.

New House

After closing on Friday, I went and got the kids from Nana and Grandaddy's house.  On Saturday afternoon we were able to go over to the new house.  Annie knew she was refusing to look at me.

 Ben, Mollie Grace, and Annie packed and ready to go to Nana and Grandaddy's house.  One of our realtors, Mrs. Laurie, gave them boxes to color and pack with their special things.

While I was taking the kids to meet Nana and Grandaddy, someone came by and changed the "pending" sign to "sold."

 By the end of day 2 several rooms were completely empty for John and me to clean.  This is the computer room.

The picture I forgot to take was of our bedroom.  I failed to keep out an air mattress or bedding so we said that we would just stay in a hotel Tuesday night.  However, our bed and mattresses didn't get packed onto the truck Tuesday.  As it neared bedtime, we decided that we would rather just stay at the house.  Our mattresses were stacked against the wall so we put them back on the bed and went to Wal-Mart and bought a blanket and a couple of pillows.  We stuffed our pillows inside t-shirts and spread beach towels on the mattress (no sheets).
