Wheeler Wildlife Refuge

During the first week of November we enjoyed a beautiful fall day at Wheeler Wildlife Refuge in Decatur. It's a federally protected area for bird migration and between the beginning of November and Thanksgiving 20,000 cranes will migrate there. At the time we were there only 20 had arrived so we want to go back and see what 20,000 look like.

While we were at the park my friend Brittany texted that she was driving home from Atlanta and her GPS had routed her through Huntsville, did we want to meet at Chick-fil-a?

Thursday on our way home we had a flat tire. Thankfully we had not gone far when we realized we had a problem. We returned to Decatur, spent three hours at Pep Boys, and now have four new tires.

River Run Halloween Party

Tonight was the annual Halloween party at River Run Eventing. We dressed up this fat pony named Andy as Harry Potter. The girls had fun riding around on Andy bareback in their costumes, watching the horses bob for apples (Andy was the champion) and eating snacks with horse riding friends.

Oxford 3v3

Ben and a select group from his soccer team played in a 3v3 tournament in Oxford on Saturday. The teams were made up of six players max and only three played at a time. The Predators were Ben, Anthony, Leland, Elijsha, Israel, and a new kid named Brayan. After four 30 minute games they were in 4th place and played in the semi-finals against the first place team. Only John and Ben went to Oxford because Annie had two soccer games as well. Israel's mom Lisa took the great pics below.
