For MawMaw Wilma
MawMaw said she is going to Denise's house tomorrow and will look at the blog. This picture is just for her. Ben is laying on his "MawMaw Wilma blanket." It is much prettier than Zac's "MawMaw Wilma blanket." She made this quilt for Ben for Christmas last year. She said that we were to use it and that I was to make sure it was Ben's favorite blanket. I keep it in our rocking chair in the nursery and we cover up with it every night while Ben eats and while we rock.

A couple of firsts
Today Ben and I made our first trip out in the car since he came home from the hospital. We went to the pediatrician and to the library. Ben now weighs 7 lbs 15 oz and is 21 1/4 inches long. He was asleep most of the time we were at the pediatrician's office. He woke up hungry as we were leaving and screamed. We sat in the parking lot of the doctor's clinic and I fed him a bottle so that we could go to the library while we were out. He slept through his first trip to the library. I took a picture anyway, though.

Strolling
Ben is two weeks old today. Until this afternoon, he had not been outside of the house since he came home from the hospital. Today we took our first walk around the neighborhood in the jogging stroller. When I first put him in the infant seat, he was very unhappy. He got used to it quickly, though, and was riding contentedly by the time we rolled out of the house.

Visiting Ben
Aunt Connie, Cara, MawMaw, and PawPaw came Wednesday to visit Ben. Aunt Connie and Cara were at the hospital when he was born. This was the first time MawMaw and PawPaw saw Ben. They brought him a Bible with his name engraved on it. Mama went home with them when they left today. She and Daddy had driven to Jackson together last Thursday. Daddy went back to their house in her truck Friday and Mama rode home with us Saturday. We were so thankful to have Mama here for that time. She helped us become more comfortable taking care of Ben. In the hospital, she showed us how to feed him and change his diaper. At home, she taught us how to bathe him. She has also been getting up with him at night and letting us sleep. That has allowed me to get plenty of rest and recover quickly. Tonight I begin night duty. She says he sleeps pretty well.

Hello, Ben
My brain doesn't seem to be functioning well enough to write much, but I wanted to post some pictures so that everyone could see Ben. I'm sure I'll have lots more to say and pictures to post soon.
