Schools Out
Schools here are out now and the kids have been spending a lot of time playing with their neighbor friends.
Last week we visited the Pink Palace Museum. They are inside the scale replica of the first Piggly Wiggly.
After spending a couple of hours at the Pink Palace we went to the zoo.
New hippo viewing area. You can just barely see the hippos in the water past the fish.
Annie's trying to hit the fish.
The polar bear was in the water. This is the first time we've seen him in the water since we started going to the zoo last summer.
Yesterday we visited the Lichterman Nature Center.
A bird has built a nest in our crepe myrtle. When we got home from the grocery store the bird was in the nest but I startled it just as I took this picture and it flew away.

Win!
This has been a hard baseball season. Going into last night's game, the team was 0-10 and it was raining. Since they had lost every game up to that point, I really hoped the coach would forfeit and let us go home where it was dry and warm. However, they played on. Thankfully it quit raining after the first inning. The team hit great and were able to score 14 runs beating the Nationals 14-4.
Ben is #3.
I was trying to get a picture of the girls' hands. They found a tiny bit of mud in the cracks in the concrete and were able to get filthy!
Randomness
Mollie Grace decided she is too big for hooded towels so we bought her a couple of pink big girl towels.

Baseball
Ben has three more baseball games this season. It has been a difficult season. His team hasn't won a game yet. They played great tonight, though. The lost 6-4 in a very close game. He's played a lot of baseball this week with games on Tuesday, Thursday, and another Friday. Their last two games are next Monday and Tuesday.
Tonight he played on the pitcher's mound and did an awesome job. He threw a couple of guys out at first and caught a pop fly for an out.
This is what Mollie Grace does during baseball games.
All fall down.
John was able to leave work for a little while to watch the game tonight. You can't tell in this picture but Ben is batting.
And Annie flips and flops around.
Last Week
I uploaded these pictures from my camera last week but never posted them. The first couple are of the girls at home the weekend Ben and John were in Talladega.
I was looking for Hal before bedtime and found him in Mollie Grace's doll tent.
These are things Ben got at the race.
He had dirt on his leg that he got while down on the track. Before his shower, he asked me how he could keep the dirt from washing off. I suggested that we rub it onto a paper towel and save the paper towel.
Ben took this picture of us doing Mollie Grace's reading lesson.
The new Zambezi River Hippo Camp area at the zoo opened last weekend. We checked it out last Wednesday.
Crocodiles are a new exhibit.
Huge new home for the hippos.
The wolves are Ben's favorite animal at the zoo and they were right by the fence.
We've never seen the brown bears this close before. A zoo keeper was throwing food into the water and they were swimming right by the window.
I always love the sea lions.
This is Payton the male polar bear and he was acting so weird. He would walk up to the edge of the water and then walk backwards swinging his head and growling about ten steps. And then back forward. Over and over and over.
Mollie Grace's feet got tired.
