Born on March 4, 1934, in the Belah Community, Louisiana, he was the son of Arthur James Ganey and Amy Rosier. Mr. Ganey served in the United States Armed Forces Reserves and dedicated many years of his life to working in the oil industry.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents; three sisters, Ruby Camp, Juanita Humphries, and Barbara Windham; two brothers, Alvin Ganey and E.L. Ganey, Jr; and one son-in-law, Mac Stapleton.
Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of “70” years, Wilma Lea Corley Ganey of Jena, Louisiana; two daughters, D’Juana Stapleton and Connie (Larry) Lambeth, both of Jena, Louisiana; one sister, Delphine Paul of Jena, Louisiana; and one brother, Glenn Dale Ganey (Gloria) of Trout, Louisiana; five grandchildren, Rena Elder (John), Will Stapleton (Danielle), Zac Stapleton (Lori), Josh Lambeth (Lauren), and Cara Greer (Tom); fourteen great-grandchildren, Ben, Mollie Grace, Annie, Emalee, Rylee, Marlee, Lane, Reiny, Cash, Olivia, Adelyn, Deacon, Aubrey, Ella Kate; along with a host of extended family members, nieces and nephews, and dear friends who will remember him with love and respect.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home and Crematory in Jena, Louisiana. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home and Crematory with Reverend Mark Breland, Reverend Todd Norris, and Kevin Windham officiating.
Pallbearers will be Tom Greer, Josh Lambeth, Will Stapleton, Zac Stapleton, John Elder, and Ben Elder. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacon Lambeth, Cash Stapleton, and Lane Stapleton.
Laid to rest will follow the Funeral Services in the Magnolia Cemetery, of the Magnolia Community, in Jena, Louisiana.
Mr. Ganey will be remembered for his quiet strength, enduring love for his family, and a life well lived in service to others.
