Thursday was ZooTots, our monthly toddler class at the zoo. This month we learned about animals with spots and stripes.
Isn't Mollie getting big sitting in a chair at the table? She ate graham crackers while Ben participated. Ben looks goofy in this picture, but he's doing exactly what he's supposed to be doing, looking up at the teacher listening to her directions.
Ben did a great job making a tiger picture frame. He put on the stripes, while I helped with the whiskers and ears.

We saw live animals with stripes and spots. Mrs. Krissy brought in baby raccoons (trapped in the zoo office's attic) in a cage and they petted a python.
We actually did a lot more on Thursday that I didn't photograph. After ZooTots, we went with our friends and played at the new splash pad at the zoo. We bought tickets to ride the train, but decided to hold on to them until the next trip since it turned out to be field trip day and there were at least 400 kids at the zoo (usually there are about 10-15). We had packed picnic lunches, which we ate at the park. It was packed too since all the field trippers were having picnic lunches. Thankfully, as we were finishing lunch, the school kids began leaving so we ended up having the park all to ourselves to play. It looked like it was going to be a disappointing day for a while, no train and no playing in the park (since it was over run with much bigger kids), but we ended up having lots of fun.
Ben really enjoyed playing with PawPaw Mac. Ben and Daddy went to "the farm" together, which meant out to the barn. Ben helped Daddy feed each morning. On Thursday morning, they found an egg and Daddy scrambled it for him. Thursday evening, Daddy and Zac roped at the house and Ben and Rylee got to ride Hammer together.
We went home for a few days last week for Zac's graduation. We had lots of fun while we were there. On Thursday, we made plans to meet Cara and Aubrey at the park to play. Mama, MawMaw, Aunt Connie, and Olivia all ended up joining us. We had fun playing together at what Ben calls "Cara's park."
John took Ben for his first ride in the Corvette today. He's sat in the car and pulled up the driveway with John, but this was the first time we latched the carseat in. They went cruising down the street and around the neighborhood with the top down. Ben was very excited. He said it was "fun, fun, fun."
Heading out. You can barely see Ben's head above the door. I don't know if he saw much other than the dashboard. You sit really low in the Corvette.
Ben was all smiles when they pulled back in the driveway.
Mollie pulled up by herself for the first time today. Ben had gotten on the couch because Mollie was trying to grab his computer. That won't work anymore since she pulled right up and started trying to push buttons.
Ben had lots of fun at Payne's birthday party at a local gym. His favorite thing was jumping into this pit of foam blocks.

I tried and tried to get a picture that captured how excited Mollie gets about Ben's electric train, but couldn't. She claps when it rushes down the hill. But even better is when it comes out of the tunnel. She clinches her hands in fists and shakes all over with excitement.
