We celebrated Mollie Grace's 8th birthday the Saturday before. She wanted a horse cake so we bought a small stable from Hobby Lobby. She did the icing herself. Green for grass.
What she really wanted to do for her birthday was go to Build-A-Bear. There were two horses there at Christmas and she wanted to get the other one. She was extremely disappointed to discover that they didn't have it in stock. They could order it and she could come back and stuff it, but she couldn't do it that day (on her actual birthday). They even called the other store in the area to see if they had it in stock. They did not. Such a hard decision. She decided to order the horse she really wanted. As we were walking out of the store, she was so sad. I offered to get them cookies at the Great American Cookie Store. That didn't cheer her up. I just couldn't stand for her to be so disappointed on her birthday so we went back to the store and bought a basic bear and a Happy Birthday t-shirt so that she could stuff and dress a toy on her birthday. She named it Joy because it made her so happy.
