Busy, Busy

 Who do you think dressed Annie after church on Sunday?

 Mollie Grace lost a tooth during church on Sunday morning.  During a prayer I glanced over at her (I know my eyes should have been shut) and noticed a tooth laying on her hymnal.  She didn't even realize it fell out.

 Like Ben, Mollie Grace didn't want the tooth fairy to take her tooth so John wrote a letter to the tooth fairy.  The tooth fairy left Mollie Grace $1 and her tooth.

 MawMaw, Emalee, and Rylee visited us for a few days.  We went to the zoo on Monday.

 Take 2.

 Mollie Grace decided to play soccer this fall instead of take dance.  After her coach called to schedule practice she got really nervous about trying something new and cried (and cried and cried).  We went to Academy and bought pink socks, shoes, and a ball.  After that she was more excited.

 Ben had his first practice tonight as well.

 It was HOT at practice but Mollie Grace did great.  She listened to her coach, didn't complain about the heat, and learned how to trap the ball.  I was very proud of her.

Ben may learn Spanish by immersion while playing soccer this fall.  His coach and six out of 10 players are Hispanic.  Ben is in green with the ball.

Weeks?

There weren't many pics on my camera, but it's obviously been a while since I posted since there are pics from two weekends.

 This is Annie Elizabeth Sally's Mommy Elder.  That's how she wants her name sung in "Lullaby" now.

 Saturday night was Member's Night at the zoo.  Members only were allowed in after normal hours.  Annie has been wanting John to go to the zoo with us so this was a good opportunity.  However, her favorite animal the panda was off exhibit and she was a little disappointed.

 The rides were free so we rode two different carousels, the tilt-a-whirl, and the train.  Selfie on the tilt-a-whirl before it started.

 You can tell Ben is not nearly as dramatic as Mollie Grace.

 Finished the tabernacle the following Sunday.

Every Wednesday this summer we've gone to the Myskowski's house.  There is a women's Bible study and then we always stay to swim.

Crazy Hair Day

 Today was the last day of CPK and Crazy Hair Day.

CPK

This is City Project Kids week at our church.  City Project Kids is our version of VBS and is held in conjunction with City Project week.  During City Project adults and youth work on home repair projects for people in the community.  They are repairing three houses this week.  Along with a Bible lesson and worship, our kids participate in community service projects.  I am the 1st and 2nd grade leader and Mollie Grace is in my group.  I've been taking pictures for the end of week slide show and am posting a few with Mollie Grace in them on the blog.

 Monday -- Making chocolate chip cookies for families with children at St. Jude.  Adults from the church will deliver them at the end of the week.

 This is a craft project that they will take home with them.  The boys were outside working on a wood working project.

Tuesday --  Putting together goody bags at the public library for children who get a library card.  I think they put together 1000.  (One of our church members is a librarian and organized this project. Another church member is the principal of a private school and uses a school bus to deliver the kids to the off site projects).

 Wednesday -- Getting instructions from Mrs. Mc.  We were at her house to help her with yard clean up.

 While Mollie Grace's group was cleaning Mrs. Mac's yard, Ben's group was moving dirt and planting a garden at Pleasant Hill Elementary School.  This school is into hands on projects.  They have classroom gardens, chickens, pigs, rabbits, and even a cow.

 Using buckets, they moved that big pile of dirt into the raised beds.

Someone at church has been nurturing these plants since spring that they transplanted into the beds.

 One of the ladies working in the nursery sent me a couple of pictures of Annie.

 Thursday --  We visited a local nursing home where the kids put on a talent show, handed out cards they had made, and then interacted with the residents while playing board games.  The whole group sang Jesus Loves Me and Father Abraham and then they demonstrated their talents. They recited poetry, turned flips, did taekwondo, sang, and showed off their artwork that they brought along.

Tomorrow is a fun day with a trip to a bouncy house place and pizza.

Last Week

Thankfully we slowed down some last week with just swim lessons for Mollie Grace in the evenings.

 Mollie Grace and Harold got married.

 Ben was being a great big brother and attending Annie's doll birthday party.

 This year every kid that swims at the Y has to get a wrist band.  A green wristband means you've passed your swim test and can go down the slide and swim in the deep end without a parent in the pool with you.  To get a green wrist band, Mollie Grace had to swim the length of the pool, tread water, and float.  Ben passed his swim test at the beginning of summer.  Mollie Grace's goal for swim lessons was to be able to pass her swim test at the end of the two weeks and she did it.
