We finally convinced Ben to put down the balloons and open his presents.
He threw all the paper out . . .
and then walked away to play with the balloon.
Slowly he alternated between balloons and opening presents until he came to this gift from Nana and Grandaddy. Finally something caught his eye . . .
a GeoTrax train. When he realized it was a train set he began making train sounds and singing "Down by the Station." We couldn't get the box open and the tracks put together fast enough for him.
While the train set was his favorite tonight, he got lots of really great gifts that he will love once the birthday excitement calms down. I love these awesome John Deere boots from my parents. He has worn his Wal-Mark knockoffs every day since fall. I know he's going to get a lot of use out of these. He also got a Mississippi State quilt that my mama made him, a Curious George story collection and CD set, Veggie Tale DVDs, a build your own bird feeder kit, a microphone, and a shaving kit.
