This morning we attended the monthly toddler class at the zoo with our friends Burn, Harris, and Payne. Ben is petting a box turtle named Thomas.
A whole group of kids including Ben petting Earl the tortoise.
Today we learned about things animals do in the summer -- have babies, look for food, try to stay cool. The kids made popcicles for the lemurs. Next month, we're supposed to watch them eat them. Mollie REALLY wanted to drink hers instead of freeze it for the lemurs.
Then they painted with vegetables. (Mollie looked at a book). Ben is rolling on paint with corn on the cob.
Burn after he took a big bite of the blue painted corn on the cob.
Eating cool icecream sandwiches is better than eating raw corn with paint on it.
Mollie loved the icecream sandwich, of course.
We rode the carousel.
And the train.
We toured the Africa area of the zoo and then made a quick run through the splash pad to cool off before we headed home.
